This full-time position is based in Halifax and follows a Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional after-hours or weekend coverage as needed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain curb appeal through litter removal, sweeping, pressure washing, seasonal upkeep, and general grounds maintenance.
    • Identify and report deficiencies related to lighting, signage, pavement, fencing, furnishings, and building appearance.
    • Inspect waste, recycling, organics, loading, and garbage chute areas; support container movement, contractor access, bulk item disposal, and cleanliness standards.
    • Report contamination, illegal dumping, compliance concerns, and equipment deficiencies promptly.
    • Complete maintenance work orders in suites and common areas, including minor plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, caulking, carpentry, appliance, filter, and battery work.
    • Respond to resident maintenance requests professionally and efficiently.
    • Prepare vacant suites for occupancy by completing repairs, touch-ups, appliance support, contractor coordination, and move-in readiness inspections.
    • Inspect mechanical rooms, storage areas, amenity spaces, and common areas; support preventative maintenance, inventory control, building improvements, and emergency response activities.
    • Monitor building systems and report issues requiring contractor attention.
    • Follow health and safety procedures, use tools and materials responsibly, maintain an organized work area, and report hazards or incidents promptly.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records and participate in emergency response or on-call rotation as required.
    • Provide friendly, professional service; communicate timelines clearly; and support move-ins, move-outs, and resident orientation as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • 1-3 years of experience in residential maintenance, building operations, facilities, property management, landscaping, or janitorial services.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, appliances, and the safe use of hand and power tools.
    • Strong customer service, communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform indoor and outdoor physical work in varying conditions.
    • WHMIS certification, a valid driver’s license, and multi-residential experience are considered assets.
