Our client a construction related organization is seeking a Project Manager to join their growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position; a P.Eng with distribution and civil scopes will be given preference for the PM opportunity.
The Project Manager is responsible for the safe, timely, and profitable delivery of Distribution and Civil projects across Western Canada. This role manages multiple simultaneous projects, prioritizing construction excellence through expert communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Direct accountability for project financials, including precise forecasting, cost estimating, and accruals.
- Collaboration: Partners with Construction, Quality, HSSE, Engineering, and Fleet teams to exceed client expectations.
- Strategic Execution: Leads EPC projects using in-depth knowledge of substation sequencing, procurement strategies, and engineering design lifecycles.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities to enhance project delivery and the overall customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years in Project Management, with 5+ years specifically managing construction.
- Technical Expertise: 5+ years as a High Voltage Journeyperson; extensive experience in high-voltage construction and regulated utilities (asset).
- Leadership: Proven ability to resolve complex technical issues and foster long-term client relationships.
- Software: Proficiency in MS Office and advanced MS Project skills for scheduling.
