Our client, a public practice firm located in Southern BC in the Kootenay region is seeking a Sr Accountant to join their busy team. If you’re seeking a quieter pace of life where the outdoors and milder temperatures are present 365 days/year, this could be the right opportunity for you!
The ideal incumbent will be a fully designated CPA with a minimum of 3 years post-designation experience in public practice. This role is ideal for a self-motivated and experienced individual.
Responsibilities will include;
- Preparation and review of year end engagements in a variety of client industries
- Supervisory work in both the not-for-profit and profit sector
- Preparation of corporate, personal and trust income tax returns
- Consultations and relationship building with clients and team members
- Business development initiatives including opportunities for new and existing clients
- Training of team members and participation in technical updates
Requirements;
- CPA (Canada) designation
- 3 years of post-designation experience in public practice
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including; ASPE and ASNPO
- Experience with CaseWare, Taxprep, Sage, Xero and/or QuickBooks are considered an asset
- Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail, able to think critically and prioritize
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively both written/verbal, internally and externally
