Our client, a trusted public accounting firm specializing in small business accounting, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager to join their Calgary team. This is an in-office position throughout the week, with flexibility to complement your work-life balance.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree or diploma in accounting and their CPA designation. You will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Senior Accountant in public practice and be an excellent communicator. We are looking for someone highly proficient in accounting software and MS Office and who has a strong understanding of relevant tax laws.
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Planning and leading engagements
- Executing client service plans
- Work closely with the partners in exceeding client’s expectations
- Coaching and developing team members
Additionally, there is an opportunity for an experienced US Staff Accountant to join the team as well! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in public practice. You will hold an accounting degree or diploma, with a CPA US or EA US considered an asset. We are seeking someone who enjoys being challenged in their work and has a desire to continuously learn and develop.
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Perform US individual tax returns (resident and nonresident)
- Perform US corporate tax returns
- Liaise with IRS and other authorities
- Maintain up to date tax knowledge
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with clients
